Faceplant Metalfest Cancelled

Dear Moshoholics,

It’s with a heavy heart we have to tell you that Faceplant Metalfest in Malmö has been cancelled, the entire event. We were looking forward to playing Malmö for the first time, but unfortunately that will have to wait. So if you want to catch us live in Sweden this summer, make sure you make your way to Rockstad: Falun in August.

Statement from the festival:

Fellow metalheads,

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Faceplant Metalfest 2012 unfortunately has to be cancelled.

We have had a massive and fantastic response these last few months, both from you – our awesome fans and collaborators – as well as from the Swedish press, which has regularly posted updates on the festival. But, unfortunately, a festival cannot be run on enthusiasm alone. Despite us having sold as many tickets as we have, we are still so far from break-even that we have had to pull the plug now, 4 weeks before the event.

Right now we have reached a crisis-point as we have a number of bills that need to be paid right away for this festival to be able to happen – and those funds have unfortunately not been accumulated yet. We know that SO many of you have been very excited for this festival – and believe us, WE WERE TOO. Everyone we spoke to told us that this was a great initiative with great prospects, so we had our hopes high and expected a killer festival. But unless someone with a lot of money believes in this project so much that they want to help us fund it before the end of June – this is where it ends.
We have worked our asses off for a whole year, trying to make this dream a reality. But without enough ticket-sales, no event is possible. We have done everything possible within our reach to try and make this festival happen, but this is now out of our control.

Making this decision today was without a doubt the most difficult part of this journey, we hope that you understand this. Any questions you have can be sent to our chairman, Jacob (jacob@faceplantmetalfest.com) who will do his best to answer them.

Metal always,
The Faceplant Crew

We have signed with Napalm Records

Greetings moshoholics!

We are proud to announce that we have partnered up with the mighty Napalm Records in order to spread the message of mosh worldwide. We started off as a DIY band but have now reached the point where it is better for us to focus on the art and let someone else handle the business. We hope this will be a long and fruitful relationship and we know it will be very beneficial to all you moshoholics out there. We salute Napalm Records and look forward to releasing our 4th album. More details surrounding this release will be coming soon, so stay tuned…

Moshing regards,
Larry, Pete, Pat & Ted / F.K.Ü.

Summer Festivals

As previously reported, we will play 2 Swedish festivals this year, Faceplant Metalfest in July and Rockstad: Falun in August. We have also just recently been confirmed to headline the Titan Fest in Aaschot, Belgium. This will be the first time we play in Belgium so we are extra happy about this show. It doesn’t seem likely we will do any more shows this year since we are focused on working on the new album, so make sure you come to these shows if you need a remedy for that twitching thrash nerve.

F.K.Ü. Part Ways With Metal On Metal Records

We have decided to part ways with Italy-based label Metal On Metal Records. After starting work on our 3rd album Where Moshers Dwell we were contacted by these very enthusiastic people about releasing an album with us. After releasing our albums DIY in past we decided it was worth a shot working with a label. In 2009 we finally released Where Moshers Dwell, our most appreciated album thus far judging by reviews and the response from our fans.

Now it’s 2012 and we feel it’s time to move on. These last two years has seen us do shows that could be considered the highlight of any bands career, but we still feel the best is yet to come and that’s why we have decided to start afresh. We are currently writing songs for our as-yet untitled 4th studio album and making the necessary plans for complete domination and world annihilation. Whether we will once again release our music ourselves or choose to work with a new label is still to be decided, so any parties interested in a moshness venture with the horror metal moshing machine, feel free to contact us.
